Sermon notes for the week of February 26, 2012

The scripture reading for this week - the first Sunday of Lent is Mark 1:9-15. This Sunday begins our Lenten journey together so we look at the desert temptation experience of Jesus. Why was he led by the Spirit into the desert to face the "wild beasts" as Mark says. What wild beasts do we face? And how do we prepare for them? How can Lent be a time of such spiritual preparation? That's the focus on this Sunday. Hope you choose to begin Lent in church with us.
